Supreme winner to appear on TV!

Not only did Atcost House win ‘Best change of use of an existing building or conversion’ at the North and East Yorkshire Building Excellence Awards 2018, but they also topped off the night winning The Supreme Award!  They have now gone on to star in a new television series on BBC one.

The brief for architects, Bramhall Blenkharn, was to convert Atcost House from a portal framed building into a home with open plan living.  The owner Philip Coe used his skills as a trained cabinet maker to do the conversion work.

The close relationship between the owners and the Building Control Officer, Christy McGibbon, from North Yorkshire Building Control Partnership made for a very smooth building process.

Atcost House is to appear on ‘The Best House in Town’ a new television series on BBC one.  Three properties including Atcost House will try to impress judges in the hope of having ‘the best house in town!’

This episode will air on BBC One on Thursday 14 February 2019 at 15.45.
