Mental Health Week
A big well done to Helen Winfield, Building Control Surveyor, who held a Tea and Talk event at her home in October to raise awareness and funds to support the Mental Health Foundation. Helen provided a grand selection of cakes and other tasty treats, washed down with tea. There was definitely a lot of chatting going on!
The Mental Health Foundation is the UK’s charity for everyone’s mental health. With prevention at the heart of what they do, they aim to find and address the sources of mental health problems. We must make the same progress for the health of our minds that we have achieved for the health of our bodies. And when we do, we will look back and think that this was our time’s greatest contribution to human flourishing.
NYBCP are donating their surplus tea fund (£80.00) this year to the Ryedale Foodbank, based at Hope Central in Malton and managed though the Trussell Trust.
The Trussell Trust runs a network of over 400 foodbanks, giving emergency food and support to people in crisis across the UK, where thirteen million people live below the poverty line. In the last year they gave 1,109,309 three day emergency food supplies to people in crisis.
